What Makes a Good School Superintendent?

The Wayne County School Board met yesterday afternoon and considered the qualities they are looking for in a superintendent.

A survey of teachers, administrators and parents noted that many want a superintendent who is willing to listen to input, with strong leadership skills. A good moral compass and commitment to academics and extra curricular programs were also mentioned in the survey.

Teachers in the district overwhelmingly wanted a superintendent who had once been a classroom teacher.

The survey will be used to sort applicants for the job. There are 20 applicants for the Wayne County superintendent job.
