Maurice Vernon Gore, age 92, passed away Saturday at the residence of his sister.  Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late David Maurice Gore and the late Ora Ezzell Gore. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Gore, Chancey Gore, Wade Gore, and Paul Gore; along with sisters, Mary Alice Gore and Marie Gore Thornton. Vernon was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was a faithful member when his health allowed him to attend.

A service to celebrate Vernon’s life will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Michael Hall officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.

Vernon is survived by his sister, Helen Jones.
