March 1, 2023, 86, La Grange –

James Marshal Wood, 86, entered into his eternal reward on March 1, 2023. He was born in Lenoir County to the late David Styron Wood, Sr., and Annie Hardy Wood on July 23, 1936. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Carter Wood; brothers, D.S. Wood, Jr. and Milton Hardy Wood; and his niece, Betsy Wood Lanier.

A service of remembrance will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 3 p.m. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

Jim is survived by his nieces and nephews, Lucy Wood Marston and husband, John, Styron Wood, III. and wife, Kristy, Andrea Lanier Duffy and husband, John, and Milton Hardy Wood “Woody” and wife, Wendi; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
