On March 2, 2023, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a child death at UNC Health Wayne. Upon arrival, officers were told that a subject brought a deceased 5-year-old juvenile to the emergency room. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to UNC Health Wayne. 

This investigation is still developing, and police say the cause of death is not known at this time.
