Goldsboro, N.C. — A Brunswick County man died after an accident in Goldsboro. On March 1, 2023, at approximately 8:19 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the area of U.S. 70 West and Spence Avenue regarding a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  The driver of the motor vehicle is a 17-year-old who stopped and remained until law enforcement and EMS arrived. The victim, Steven Fitzgerald, 68, was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS personnel. The victim was a resident of Southport, NC. This investigation is ongoing.
