February 23, 2023, 70, Rose Hill –

Glenda Sharon Murphy Sullivan, 70, resident of the Rose Hill area, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

Ms. Sullivan had been employed in the housekeeping department at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

She is survived by a daughter, Wendy Sullivan Whitfield, and husband, William, of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Kristin Whitfield, Jessica Whitfield, Dylan Whitfield, Amber Whitfield, William Whitfield, Jr., Jamie Whitfield, Sharon Mercer, and Catlyn Mercer; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Murphy of the home in Rose Hill; two brothers and their wives, Ellis and Bridgett Murphy of Watha, and Jeffrey and Deborah Murphy of Wallace.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Sullivan Bradley; her parents, Perlie K. Murphy and Winnie Brock Murphy; a brother, Larry Murphy; and a sister, Barbie Murphy.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.  Funeral services will be held by the graveside on Monday, February 27, at 11 a.m. at the Sullivan-Rogers Cemetery, 162 Oak Ridge Avenue, Mount Olive.  Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey Dail.
