Speeding Suspect Ejected After Car Crash

A Pink Hill man has been arrested after fleeing from law enforcement during a traffic stop. 

According to the report on 02/15/2023, members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Hwy 111 South near Spring Creek High School. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Ford Mustang that was traveling at 124 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.  The vehicle in question attempted to elude Law Enforcement by speeding and driving recklessly and eventually entering Duplin County where the driver lost control and crashed.

As a result of the crash, the driver 21-year-old Chandler Quinn was ejected from his vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Quinn was transported by Duplin County EMS to a facility in Kenansville.

Quinn has been charged with

Felony Flee to Elude, Driving While Impaired, Speeding 124/55 zone, Reckless Driving to Endanger, Fail to Stop at Duly Erected Stop Sign x2, Failure To Maintain Lane Control, Failure to Wear Seat Belt

Members of the NCSHP arrived and took over the crash investigation.
