Jerry Mack Denning, 78, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County on April 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Marvin Andrew and Vera Jane Britt Denning.

In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-two years, Ann Loudell Davis Denning; son-in-law, Joe Tucker; sister, Carolyn Parker; and brother, Danny Marvin Denning.

Mack is survived by his daughters, Delaine Tucker and Wanda Tyndall (Terry); grandchildren, Brandon Tucker (Cassie), April Hamilton (Julian), and John Tyndall (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Lilly Ann Tyndall, Lane Pearson Tyndall, and Addilee Rose Hamilton; sister, Glenda Templeton of Smyrna, Tennessee; and a special nephew, Jerry Andrew Denning, and family.

Mack proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his time in the service, he worked as a radio operator and repairman. Mack earned the rank of Specialist First Class.

Mack was raised in the Dobbersville community in southern Wayne County. He was a graduate of Grantham High School. Mack was a founding member of the Grantham Rescue Squad and a charter member of Jordan’s Chapel Volunteer Fire Department.

Mack retired from Hevi-Duty (now Waukesha) following thirty-seven years of service where he worked as a transformer tester. He was a member of the Mill Creek Masonic Lodge #125. Mack was a longtime member of Providence Church.

A service to celebrate Mack’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Providence Church with Mr. Rudy Peedin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Wanda and Terry Tyndall.
