Edward “Ed” L. Heath, 76, of Goldsboro passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 15, 2023, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro and at other times at the residence.  Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Grange.

Mr. Heath was born in Lenior County on November 6, 1946, to the late Walter and Effie Barfield Heath.  He recently retired from AP Exhaust after 43 years of dedicated and loyal service.  He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Grady, and husband, David of Goldsboro; one brother, Danny Heath and wife, Becky of Princeton; one sister, Hazel Moody and husband of Albertson; two grandchildren, Bianca Ponce and Kelly Ponce; a brother-in-law, Jessie Williford of Rosewood and his special dog, Rat-Rat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gustavo Ponce; one brother, Ronnie Heath and two sisters, Helen Williford and Carol Jernigan.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
