Shooting on Quaker Drive

On the morning of February 12th, 2023, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Quaker Drive, Goldsboro, regarding a shooting. While enroute, Deputies were notified that the victim Anthony Carter was at another location and the Goldsboro Police Department was out with him. By the time Deputies arrived, Carter had been transported by Wayne County EMS to Wayne UNC Healthcare for treatment.

Deputies were told that while at an address on Quaker Drive, an altercation occurred between Mr. Carter and Mr. Robbie Allyn Jenkins. During the altercation, Jenkins produced a gun and shot Mr. Carter. Deputies went to the area where the shooting allegedly occurred and attempted to make contact with the suspect Robbie Jenkins and was unsuccessful in locating him.

Detectives with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and as a result of their investigation, they have secured warrants on Jenkins for attempted murder. The victim, Anthony Carter’s
condition is unknown at the time of this release, and the Sheriff’s office will send out an update as
more information becomes available.

During the early morning hours of Monday, February 13th, 2023, Robbie Allyn Jenkins was located and
arrested in the Goldsboro area. Jenkins was brought before a Wayne County Magistrate who gave him
a secured bond. Jenkins was then turned over to the Wayne County Detention Center.

The victim Anthony Carter was last heard to be in stable condition at ECU Health.
