February 4, 2023, 71, Mount Olive –

Katherine Summerlin Tadlock, 71, of the Summerlin’s Crossroads community, Mount Olive, passed away Saturday evening, February 4, 2023, at ECU Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.

Katherine retired from the North Carolina Prison System where she worked as a food service manager. 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home and will be officiated by the Rev. Mickey Whitfield.   Visitation will follow the service.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Tadlock Barwick, and husband, Max, of Calypso; her son, Kevin Tadlock with fiance, Samantha Drinkwater, of Summerlin’s Crossroads; grandchildren, Brooke Leigh Cottle with fiancee, Cody Hall, Alivia Tadlock, Anthony Tadlock, Raychel Barwich Rhodes and husband, Blake, and Mary Beth Barwick and fiancee, Colby Bass; a great-granddaughter, Sutton Grace Rhodes; a special friend of many years, Scarlett Malpass of Mount Olive; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. Summerlin and Lannie Ezzell Summerlin; two brothers, Herbert Lee Summerlin, and Willie Summerlin; and sisters, Addie S. Sparks, Nellie S. Williams, and Mary S. Wilkins.

At Katherine’s request, after the service, cremation will take place.  With that being the case and without a burial, the family would appreciate that instead of flowers, any memorial gifts be made to
