Elease Houston Herring, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Somerset Assisted Living in Goldsboro. Born on November 19, 1934, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. Houston and Olie Westbrook Houston.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Randy Burchette officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.

Elease is survived by her children, Constance Kelso, and husband, Lloyd, Sonny James Herring, Sheila Parks, David Herring and wife, Prannie, Michelle Carroll, and husband, Tim; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, James Edward Herring, her brothers, Norwood and Earl Houston; and sisters, Mary and Sudi Bell Strickland.
