Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon Found After Vehicle Pursuit

On Jan. 31, 2023, at approximately 3:16 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department’s Housing and Selective Enforcement Unit was conducting saturated patrols of the northern portion of the city.  A traffic stop was attempted in the 1700 block of Wayne Memorial Drive in reference to a stop light violation. The vehicle, a 2003 black Mercedes passenger vehicle, failed to yield to the officer’s blue lights and a vehicular pursuit ensued. The vehicle pursuit ended near the intersection of Greenleaf Street and West Grantham Street when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed. The vehicle came to rest in the 700 block of North John Street and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Anthony Demarcus Langston, fled from the wrecked vehicle on foot. Mr. Langston was taken into custody inside a warehouse located at 105 E. Holly St. During a search of the vehicle, a concealed firearm and suspected heroin was located. Mr. Langston was transported to Wayne UNC Health for further evaluation and then subsequently to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office. Mr. Langston was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F), Possession of Heroin (F), Fleeing to Elude Arrest with Motor Vehicle (F), Resisting Public Officer (M), Hit and Run Property Damage (M), Carrying a Concealed Gun (M), and a Stop Light Violation. Mr. Langston was held at the Wayne County Jail on a $30,000 secured bond.
