Hazel Lee Joyner Hall, age 97, passed away Wednesday at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late John William Joyner and the late Agatha Massey Joyner and wife of the late Claude B. Hall. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel H. Sutton. She was a member of Westbrook Grove PFWB Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Sunday immediately following the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be on Monday at 1:00 pm at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her children, Billy Hall and Linda K. King; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Hall; son-in-law, Wayne Sutton; two brothers, Johnny Mac Joyner and Ronnie Gene Joyner; a sister, Lucille Herring; five grandchildren, Jeff Sutton, Lee King and wife, Tracy, Charles Hall and wife, Susan, Melissa Thornton and husband, Michael and Tracey King and wife, Melissia; five great-grandchildren, Dustin King, Brittany King, Matthew Hall, Jackson King, and Kaden Thornton. 

In addition to her parents, husband, and daughter, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sadie Elizabeth Joyner, Naomi Gray Joyner Cole, and Jerry Vance Joyner.
