Walter Jerry Bean

January 22, 2023, 82, Goldsboro –

Walter Jerry Bean, 82, of Goldsboro departed this earthly life Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with his family by his side.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Jerry was born in Wayne County on July 27, 1940. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was the owner and operator of Braden Custom House LTD and the past owner and operator of Art Plus, Inc in Goldsboro. Jerry was a talented artist; his drawings, paintings, and murals are in many areas of Goldsboro and other parts of our state of North Carolina. Jerry was a charter member of the Waynesborough Kiwanis Club where he served faithfully throughout the clubs’ years serving as past President and Secretary. He volunteered and was dedicated to serving his local club in any way he needed. Jerry was most known for his amusing personality. He always had a smile on his face and would tell a joke in a minute! Jerry was the entertainment and “life” of any get-together and will be sorely missed by all those he knew.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Pender-Bean; his sister, Sheila Thompson, and husband, James of Grantham and his two god-children, Elizabeth “Liz” Hott (Justin) of New Bern and Todd Weeks (Missy) of Atlanta, Georgia

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Walter Allen Bean; his mother, Betty Lou Hartley Braden, and husband, Burl Braden; Betty’s second husband, Carroll M. McLamb and his beloved son, Stephen “Troy” Bean.
