Rose Daniels Mangum, 85, was received into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 20, 2023. Rose was born in Louisburg to the late Alfred L. and Ruth Joyner Daniels on September 10, 1937. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Sam Mangum; and brother, Pete Daniels.

For many years, Rose served the residents of Fremont Rest Villas as the operating manager. Her dedication and commitment to the best care facility were recognized by the many she worked with and cared for. Rose has also served as the secretary for the Women’s Bowling Association.

Faith was both important and evident in Rose’s life. She fulfilled her membership role at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church through her prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Rose was a constant in the life of the church.

For Rose, the family was everything. No matter the situation, she remained proud of each and every one of them. If her children were involved in any activities, you could often find Rose helping in some way. She served as a Girl Scout Leader while living in Florida and North Carolina. Rose also had a deep love for sports and assisted as a softball coach for her children’s team.

Rose will be remembered by her family as a faithful and loving wife, mama, and granny. She will be missed by her family and her lifelong friend; Tootsie Vinson and the entire Vinson Family, as well as many others she loved very much.

A service to celebrate Rose’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Woods Grove Church with Pastor Barry Teague officiating. The family will greet friends in the hour prior to the service, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in the Vinson Family Cemetery.

Rose is survived by her children; Bunnie and husband, Bill Gent of Florida, Bruce Mangum and wife, Karen of North Carolina, Jimmie Mangum and wife, Theresa of Virginia, Pam Mangum of North Carolina, and Debbie Mangum and significant other Don Stanley of North Carolina. Grandchildren; Mark Gent and wife Jennifer, Dennis Gent and wife Charlace, Billy Gent, Tracey and husband Brian Smith, Jessica Pope, Melanie and husband Brandon Edgerton, Zach Mangum and fiancé’ Lacy, Ashley, and husband David Bratcher, Kristin and husband Josh Brown. Great Grand Children: Connor, Ethan, Emma, Riley, Launa, Jacob, Nicolas, Kaitlyn, Jaymeson, Layla Rose, Brody, Eli, Cohen, Henry, Luke, and Charlotte. Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the staff of Helping Hands. Love and heartfelt thanks are also expressed to her special caregivers and friends, Neva Hartzog and Wanda Davis.
