Convicted Felon Arrested for Possession of Firearm

On January 5, 2023, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department’s Housing Unit was conducting saturated patrols of the northern portion of the city. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of Industry Court in reference to a motor vehicle violation.  During a probable cause search of the vehicle, suspected marijuana and a concealed Glock 19 9mm firearm was located.

The suspect, Tyquan Singleton, was cited for Carrying a Concealed Gun (M), Possession of Marijuana (M), and Driving While License Revoked (M). After a criminal history was completed of Singleton, Housing officers learned that Singleton had previously been convicted for several felonious federal charges in the United States Superior Court. A warrant was secured on Singleton for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F). Singleton was arrested January 17 by Goldsboro Police Department’s Patrol C-Shift without incident. Singleton was held at the Wayne County Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.
