Mary Frances Pelletier Lee

Mary Frances Pelletier Lee

January 17, 2023, 91, La Grange –

May 29, 1931- January 17, 2023

Mary Frances Pelletier Lee entered into her eternal reward on January 17, 2023. She was born in Greene County to the late Robert Lee Pelletier and Rosa Lee Burroughs on May 29, 1931. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Lee; sons, Danny Lee and Jerry Lee; son-in-law, Matthew Quinn; grandson, Mason Quinn; sisters, Annette Vandiford and Dorothy Wade Miller; and brothers, Robert Pelletier and Roger Pelletier.

Frances met and married the love of her life, Floyd Edward Lee, and together they raised their family. The wife of a farmer, Frances was no stranger to hard work. Her work ethic extended from life on the farm to her work at Howell’s Child Care. She was a dedicated employee and later retired from Howell’s, working into her 70s.

The best of southern cooks, Frances never had a problem filling the seats at her table. Her family enjoyed everything she cooked, but her collards and Christmas cookies were second to none. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, especially when it came to projects for her family. Gardening was what Frances loved most of all her hobbies. Putting her hands into the soil and tending her flowers gave her pleasure and peace. It was rare not to find a variety of flowers in a vase or jar somewhere in the house and in her yard. Her green thumb was a gift that gave her and so many others joy.

Strong-willed and determined, there was nothing that Frances couldn’t do when she set her mind to it. She knew what she wanted and how she wanted it and wasn’t keen on accepting less. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. Most of all, Frances was a child of God. She was a charter member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church and remained an active member until she was physically unable. Her heart’s desire was to see Jesus, and her family celebrates that she met her Savior and was reunited with her family at Heaven’s gates.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in La Grange on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends in the hour before the service, and other times at the home of her daughter, Karen, 5371 Pauls Path Road, La Grange. Committal at Fairview Cemetery will follow immediately after the funeral service.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Karen Sanderson, and husband, Richard; daughters-in-law, Frances Lee and Lorree Lee; grandchildren, Daniel Lee (April), Matthew Quinn (Amanda), Mattison Quinn (Cory), and Anna Lee (Corey); great-grandchildren, Kylee, Matthew, Nicholas, Addyson, and Jaxxon Quinn, and Reid Lee; sisters, Myrtle Harrison and Janet Burkette; and brother, Jake Pelletier.
