Louis Sheldon Kadis, 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Classic Care in Smithfield.

Sheldon was born in Wayne County to the late Nathan and Ruth Seligman Kadis on December 27, 1951. He had been an employee of Franklin Baking Company earlier in his life. Sheldon lived out his last 20 years in Smithfield rest home, often suffering from lasting effects of cirrhosis of the liver.

Despite his many struggles he always seemed to find his own kind of happiness and was able to touch the hearts of all the people who knew him, in a special way.

Sheldon is survived by his sister Marcia and Ernie Vincent, beloved brother-in-law of Harrisburg, NC, and nephew Brandon of Goodland, KS. He was predeceased by his other nephew, Cory, in 2009.

A graveside service will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery (306 Elm Street, Goldsboro) on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 3:00 pm. Pastor Mark Fields will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
