Frank Gregory Foster

Frank Gregory Foster

January 14, 2023, 66, Goldsboro –

Frank Gregory Foster, in a cruel twist of fate, died on his 66th birthday, Saturday, January 14, 2023.

A graduate of East Carolina University, Greg remained a lifelong Pirate and supporter of ECU football. Through good seasons and bad, his devotion never wavered.

After 40 years as an independent insurance agent with State Farm in Goldsboro, Greg retired to spend more time at the home he loved in Beaufort. Finding solace outdoors, Greg would often walk the shoreline at sunset with a fishing pole in hand. A self-taught waterman, he had an immense appreciation for the sea. It was a love he shared with friends and family throughout his life. He was happiest on his boat, exploring the sounds and open ocean, in search of fish. He was content there, whether it be throwing a cast net from the bow or trolling the depths. There weren’t always fish, but there were always smiles.

Greg was a hardworking man. When he wasn’t at the office or on the water, he could be found tending the land at the ranch. Always riding a lawn mower, a tractor, or a golf cart full of tools. A true labor of love, that perhaps reminded him of his youth, working on the golf course at Walnut Creek.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Greg’s life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.

Greg is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicki Fordham Foster; daughter, Ashley F. Crabtree, and husband, Brad; sons, Frank Brian Foster and Zachary Fordham Foster; grandchildren, Kennedy Foster, Hunter Foster, Bennett Crabtree, Bryson Crabtree, and was anticipating the birth of another granddaughter. He is also survived by his father Frank Alfred Foster, sister Vicki Foster Barefoot and husband, Terry, and their children, Jeremy and Adam; his brother, Jeff Foster, and his son, Chase; and his brothers-in-law, Jeff Fordham and Gary Fordham. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zoie Oliver Foster.
