The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has identified and arrested a suspect in the death investigation of Crystal Haithcock, who was found deceased on Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, NC, on January 15th, 2023.

Through public assistance and hard work, Detectives were able to retrace Ms. Haithcock’s whereabouts prior to her death which led them to the suspect, Jimmy Ray Joyner Jr. Detectives have found no signs that foul play contributed to Ms. Haithcock’s death but are awaiting the final results of the autopsy and toxicology report from the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Joyner was arrested and charged with Felony Concealment of Death and Felony Failing to Report a Death.  The secured bond was set at $2,500.00
