Kenneth Ray Carter, 71, of Goldsboro passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, in his home. Born in Wayne County on July 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Ray Carter and Esther Martin Carter.

Ken was a loving father and devoted husband. Ken graduated from NC State University with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He went on to pursue a career in Textiles where he became known as an honorable businessman; who took pride in his work and the relationships he built.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Jane Carter, of 48 years; children, Shelly Martin and husband, Jason Martin, De Turnage and husband, David Turnage and Carey Matthews and husband, Travis Matthews; and eight grandchildren, Avery Braswell, Hayden Braswell, Allen Martin, Hunter Martin, Logan Turnage, Drake Turnage, Linkin Matthews, and Finnley Matthews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting gift cards for Jane to continue to make memories with her children and grandchildren.
