GHS Placed on Lockdown After Student Threatened

On Jan. 6, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., staff at Goldsboro High School received information that a student was threatened by an unknown subject in the community. The school was placed in a precautionary soft lockdown by Wayne County Public Schools.

The Goldsboro High School resource officer on duty notified the patrol supervisor to request assistance. Officers from the Goldsboro Police Department Patrol Division and Investigative Services Division responded, secured the school and escorted all students to their buses or personal vehicles.

All after school activities were canceled. No injuries were reported.
