December 31, 2022, 63, Fremont –

Steven Michael Jones, 63 passed away at home in Fremont, NC on December 31, 2022. Born in Wayne County on September 4, 1959, he was the son of the late Ann Elizabeth Capps and grandson of the late Gurney and Lila Capps.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 10 years, Mert Jones, and nephew Didi Hamm. 

He is survived by a brother, Lee Jones (Delores) of Virginia, and two sisters, Wanda Jones of West Virginia and Nancy Ponder (Mike) of North Carolina, as well as nephews Samuel Fraley Jr., Christopher Lee Jones, and Scott Hinson; and nieces Deborah Ann Reeves and Tammy Hamm.

A service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Pastor John Howard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
