December 26, 2022, 95, Mount Olive –

Thelma Lee Davis, at the age of 95, went to be with Jesus on Monday evening, December 26, 2022.  She was a long-time Mount Olive resident and had been employed with Mount Olive Sportswear as a garment inspector.  She was a member of Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, which was begun as Mount Olive Free Will Holiness Church of which her late husband was a long-time pastor.

Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, Kathy Davis Langston of Mount Olive; two granddaughters, Kimberly Machamer and husband, Michael, of Mount Olive, and April Langston and friend, Joseph Carter, of Mount Olive; four great-grandchildren, Carlton Blake Stroud, Ethan Machamer, Aden Carter, and Dylan Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Herbert Davis; a daughter, Margaret Marie Davis; her parents Marshall W. Lee and Beulah Hall Lee; and sisters, Evelyn Lee Cox, Betty Ruth Lee Spears, and Edith Lee Welllington.

Graveside services to honor the life of Mrs. Thelma Davis will be Thursday, December 29, at 1 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery.  Officiating will be the Rev. Terry Heath and the Rev. Juanita Hollowell.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to the American Cancer Society in memory of her daughter, Marie Davis.
