Wind Damage in Wayne County

Strong winds across the area managed to bring down trees and limbs across the county along with a few power lines in the mix. A power outage was in the Red Hill area in Northern Duplin County this morning. And as of 7 PM, approximately 127 are without power according to Duke Energy.

This morning DOT was out removing trees off Old Mount Olive highway and other areas across
the county. A CSX train had to stop at the railroad crossing in Dudley and remove one of the crossing arms at the intersection of Sleepy Creek Road and Old Mount Olive highway.

Eastern North Carolina is under a wind chill advisory from 2 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday
morning.
