Linda Faye Griffin Horton, 81, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Inman, South Carolina on November 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary Taylor Griffin.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wesley Horton, Sr; children, Linda Gay Horton, Carroll Wayne Horton, Robert Allen Horton, Richard Lee Horton, and Victoria Ann Horton; brother, Robert Taylor Griffin; and great-nephew, Jackson Griffin.

Linda is survived by her son, Carl W. Horton, Jr; sisters, Sylvia Griffin Moore and Debora Griffin Stilley and husband, Brient; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda worked in sales at Belk-Tyler, then as a teller at First Citizens Bank, and later as a pharmacy technician at H & H Drug Store. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Grifton Free Will Baptist Church for many years.

A private graveside service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at Wayne Memorial Park with her sister, Rev. Debora Stilley officiating.
