December 20, 2022, 93, Grantham Community –

Jesse Ray Brogden, age 93, passed away on Tuesday at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late William Pierce Brogden and Addie Sasser Brogden and husband of the late Barbara Barefoot Brogden. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Brogden, and a sister, Bonnie Brogden Anderson. Jesse was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church since the age of 14 and was the owner and operator of Brogden Body Shop in the Grantham Community for 45 years.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Falling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Mr. Brogden is survived by his children, Kaye Brogden Harrell and husband, Dannie, Marty Brogden and wife, Ann and Jeff Brogden and wife, Mindy; his grandchildren, Shawn Brogden, Beth Lane and her husband, Matthew, and Tim Harrell; and great-grandchildren, Kia Lane, Kaiya Lane and Landon Harrell.
