December 21, 2022, 86, Mount Olive –

Betty Reber Goodman, 86, a resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away in the comfort of her home Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022.

A native of Germany, she came to America at the age of 18, was married, and became a wonderful wife and mother. 

Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Adron Goodman; a granddaughter, Kara Alexis Goodman; and her brother, Fred Reber.

She is survived by her children, Regina Goodman Tucker of Mount Olive, Jerry Goodman and wife, Genetta, of Faison, Sandra Goodman Swinson and husband, Robert, of Mount Olive, and Lyndi Goodman Mitchell of Pikeville; seven grandchildren, Adam Tucker, Gretchen Tucker Strickland and husband, Alan, Natalie Goodman Ivey and husband, Ben, Jessica Leigh Swinson, Brooke Swinson Holstein and husband, Christopher, Nathan Stuart Mitchell, and Lyndsi Bella Mitchell; seven great-grandchildren, Devon Tucker, Harper Strickland, Kara Lee Ivey, Pierce Ivey, Cooper Holstein, Benjamin Holstein, and Caroline Holstein; sisters-in-law, Erica Reber of Germany, Janice Goodman Pate, Marilyn Goodman Carter and husband, Reggie, and Sue Brock Goodman, all of Mount Olive; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loved ones in her native Germany.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, at Tyndall Funeral Home beginning at 2 p.m. with services to follow at 3 p.m.  Burial will then commence at the Goodman Family Cemetery at Rooty Branch Church.
