Linwood Ray Stevens, 74, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Wayne UNC Health Care.  Linwood was born in Wayne County to the late Eddie and Myrtie Stevens on January 20, 1948.

Working alongside his family, Linwood was a partner in the family business, Stevens Carpet and later with Tarheel Flooring.

Finding solace in the simplicity of life, Linwood found joy in the ordinary facets of day-to-day living. For him, friendships were easily formed. A regular at Lantern Inn, you could often find him there enjoying a good meal and sharing life with friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2022, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Linwood is survived by his wife, Linda Burroughs Stevens; children, Craig Stevens and wife, Teresa, Chris Stevens and wife, Annette, Tom Stevens, Katelyn Hamilton and husband, Tim, and Kelsey Taylor and husband, John; brother, Jimmy Stevens and wife, Myra; grandchildren, Alyssa Pierce and husband, Danny, Tiffany King, Michael Parrish, Miranda Whitley and Wynter Potts; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Penny Ginn and Sandra Hughes; brothers, Bobby Stevens and Donald Stevens; and grandson, Wayne Potts, Jr.
