December 9, 2022, 56, Goldsboro –

James Winfred Sutton, age 56, passed away Friday morning at Wilson Medical Center.  Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Jack Winfred and Evelyn Outlaw Sutton. A 1984 graduate of Goldsboro High School, he attended Wayne Community College and East Carolina University. He retired from the NC Department of Public Safety with 17 years of service and from the NC Department of Motor Vehicles with 8 years of service. James was an avid hunter and fisherman.

A service to celebrate James’ life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.

James is survived by his wife, Teresa Pearman Sutton; daughter, Kacey Rose; son, Jacob Rose; brother, Joseph Sutton; nephew, Nicholas Sutton; father-in-law, Harold Pearman (Sandra).
