Two Charged in October 30th Homicide

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has two in connection with the October 30th homicide of 32-year-old Exzavia Cortez Ramseur of Clayton, NC.

On October 30th, Deputies responded to the shooting at 203 Haywood Drive, Goldsboro, NC, and located a black male victim lying in the front yard of the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Wayne County EMS arrived on the scene, attempted life-saving measures on the victim, and pronounced him deceased. 

Through the course of the investigation, two suspects were developed and warrants were secured. Daniel Cornelius Avery, 34 of Raleigh, and Karleikeya Ankeria Leach, 28 of Raleigh were taken into custody in Selma with the assistance and coordinated efforts of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office and NC SBI.

Avery is charged with First Degree Murder with No Bond and Firearm by Felon and a $50,000 Secured Bond. Leach was charged with Accessory After the Fact to First-Degree Murder and the bond was set at $100,000 Secured.
