Robert W. “Bob” Slaughter, Jr., 68, Mount Olive resident, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2022.

The family will receive friends at Love Memorial Baptist Church at Mar-Mac beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Toler.

Burial will be later in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Oxford, N.C.

Mr. Slaughter was a native of the Oxford area. He had been employed in several fleet management capacities with Ryder Trucking, Carroll’s Foods, Murphy-Brown, and lastly from Smithfield Foods. He had been a Mount Olive resident since 1988.

Mr. Slaughter is survived by his wife, Cindy Howard Slaughter; his father, Robert W. Slaughter of Oxford; a son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Dawn Slaughter of Cumming, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Meghan Slaughter Brown and husband, Ward Brown, of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Will, EllaMarie, Jake, and Isaac Slaughter, and Amelia Brown; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn S. and Charlie Moseley of Raleigh.

His mother was the late Joyce Daniel Slaughter.
