Jimmy Patrick Lynch passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Jimmy was born on March 15, 1951, to the late John Patrick Lynch and Katie Wade Barwick Lynch. He married the love of his life, Diane Hardy Lynch, 50 years ago.

Jimmy believed family always came first. He wanted to make sure all of his family was loved and cared for, and this was especially true for Diane. She was his treasure and partner in their blessed life. To many, Jimmy was known as a farmer. But this hardly begins to describe how he lived and worked. Jimmy is best described as a planter. He always had everything in order – from his fields to his farm to his home. Everything was organized and neat. This was who Jimmy was. It defined him. He not only planted in the fields, but he also planted seeds of guidance, wisdom, and love into others. Jimmy was a man of his word, and that spoke volumes in his life. He was well respected and a mentor to more than he even realized. He was simply being Jimmy, and that was enough.

Jimmy had a love for the outdoors. Throughout his life he enjoyed horseback riding with family and friends, fishing with his sons, and traveling with Diane. Jimmy and Diane found some of their greatest joys at the coast. The cool breeze and close friends made the coast an even more special place. The only thing that made these times better was sharing them with his grandchildren.

Jimmy loved being “Papa Jimmy” and made sure to never miss any of their activities. He enjoyed every single game, recital, and grandparent day. It was all for those he loved so much. He truly sought to take care of those he loved the most in every way.

A time visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange, NC. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11 am, at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Cemetery, Hwy 55, Seven Springs, NC.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Diane Hardy Lynch; children, Patrick Lynch (Chasity) and Jim Hardy Lynch (Melissa); grandchildren, Jackson, Grayson, Hardy, and Caroline; siblings, Kay Allen (Buddy), Jerry Lynch (Deborah), John Ashley Lynch (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Regina Zane (CJ); along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Mozingo, and sister-in-law, Hope Jones.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jimmy’s honor to Holy Innocents Episcopal Church, 6861 Highway 55 West, Seven Springs, NC.
