Linda Rae Ham Strickland, 75, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, in the comfort of her home. Born in Wayne County on July 25, 1947, she was the daughter of Evelyn Cruse Ham and the late Leslie Ray Ham.
Linda and George began their life together over 46 years ago. Their love grew and so did their home. They experienced the special love and joy that comes with raising their three children. They made quite the life together and found even more joy when their grandchildren arrived.
Linda was dedicated in all that she did, which included her job. She worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was more than an administrative assistant, though that was her title. She took great pride in doing her job well.
Linda was also dedicated to the Lord. United In Christ Church is where she served Him and was a faithful member. Her heart was one of service and she was willing to use her gifts and talents at the church for as long as she could.
Linda is survived by her husband, George Strickland; daughters, Evelyn Denise Bittner and husband, Mike of Loxley, AL and Chenoa Dawn Pysar and husband, Travis of St. Louis, MO; son, Benjamin Randall Strickland and wife, Stephanie of Mobile, AL; sister, Sherry Rogers, and husband, Will of Goldsboro; brother, James Ham and wife, Hope of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Dave Bittner and wife, Michelle, Jocelyn Pysar, Tristan Pysar, Aidan Strickland, Alexis Strickland, Benny Strickland, and Connor Strickland; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Linda’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ryan Arp officiating. The interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
