Jason Matthew Sutton, 45, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Jason was born in Wayne County to Gail Turner Sutton and the late Lloyd Gerald Sutton on December 14, 1976.

Always respectful of his elders, Jason knew how to talk with others, always responding with ‘ma’am’, ‘sir’, or ‘thank you’. Solid in his thoughts and opinions, he was outspoken but constantly considerate. He could carry on a conversation with anyone, and his kindness and personality were evidenced by the large circle of friends he maintained.

When Jason received his cancer diagnosis, he never pondered giving up and never held any bitterness for the hand he was dealt. Resolute to fight with all he had, he endured the trials of day-to-day life maintaining a positive attitude grounded in scripture and prayer each day.

A memorial service will be held at Rouse Funeral Home on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Grant officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jason is survived by his mother, Gail Turner Sutton and friend, William Harris; twin sister, Julie Sutton McClain and husband, Scott; nephew, Jeremiah McClain; faithful canine companion, Maggie; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
