Betty Jones Price

Betty Jones Price

November 26, 2022, 82, Goldsboro –

Betty Jones Price, 82, stepped into eternity and was greeted by her Lord and her loved ones who had finished their course on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Betty was born in Wayne County to the late Jasper C. Jones and Thelma Massengill Jones Mauldin on October 22, 1940. In addition to her parents, she was recently preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edgar Thurston Price, on November 4, 2022.

Always having a good word to speak to all, Betty was a friend to many and kind to all. She could carry on a conversation with a stranger as if they’d known each other forever, and all who were in her presence knew of her love for them. Showing love to others was the essence of life for Betty, just as important as breathing itself.

For many years, Betty and her family lived their faith through worship at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. In later years, they joined the congregation of United in Christ Church and continued in service to the Lord and His people.

Partners in life for 65 years, Betty and Thurston took on everything they did together. A deep love for each other illuminated them and was a true example to all who knew them. The dedication they showed to each other was extended to their family as Betty was the absolute best mother and grandmother.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Betty’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. The interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her son, Edgar Cleveland “Eddie” Price, and wife, Renee of Goldsboro; daughter, Robin Price Thaxton, and husband, Robert of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Kelly Mercer, Madison Haynes and husband, Zach, Ethan H. Price, and Travis Thaxton; and was anticipating the birth of her great-granddaughter in February. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Jones, and wife, Mary of Goldsboro; sister, Glenda McCord, and husband, Neal; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
