Late Saturday afternoon a single vehicle accident occurred on Pineview Cemetery Road near Arrington Bridge Road. Bystanders happen to run up on the accident and call 911 to report the accident with the driver possibly pin -in the vehicle. As firefighters from Indian Springs Fire Department and
an EMS unit along with law enforcement arrived on the scene they found a dark green pickup truck in the wood line with the driver still inside the vehicle.

Indian Springs firefighters had to use their extrication tools to cut open the passenger door to free the
driver from the wreckage and assist him to a nearby EMS unit on the scene. The pickup truck was heading west towards Mount Olive when the driver ran off the right shoulder of the road and overcorrected in a
curve. The vehicle then came back across the center line and ran off the left shoulder of the road and crashed into the tree line.

The accident is under an investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The road was closed for a short period of time while fire and EMS cleared the scene.
