Arrest Made in String of Store Robberies

On November 13, 2022, at approximately 1:18 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to Speedway at 1221 US 117 South for a report of a Robbery with Dangerous Weapon. Officers made contact with the on-duty clerk who advised that an unknown male that came in and threatened the use of a firearm while demanding multiple cartons of Newport cigarettes. The unknown subject made it out of the store with two cartons of Newports and fled the scene.

During the investigation, it was learned that the same subject was responsible for the theft of multiple cartons of Newport cigarettes from several convenience stores throughout the city of Goldsboro.

The following are the additional case numbers/victims for the above listed charges.

Circle K, 901 W. Grantham St.

On November 21, warrants were secured for Anthony Eugene McNair of Wilmington. McNair was arrested without incident and served at the Wayne County Magistrates Office.

1 Count of Felony Robbery with Dangerous Weapon

5 Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny

Bond- $75,000 for the Robbery with Dangerous Weapon

           $2,000 for the misdemeanors

First Appearance was set for Nov. 22 in the Wayne County Courthouse.
