Vennie Lee Boyette Moore

Vennie Lee Boyette Moore

November 20, 2022, 90, Goldsboro –

Vennie Lee Boyette Moore, 90, stepped into eternity and was greeted by her Lord and the loved ones who had finished their course on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Vennie Lee was born in Wayne County to the late Ralph and Mabel Strickland Boyette on May 1, 1932. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack Forest Moore, Sr., and sisters, Evelyn Holland and Bootsie Smith.

Vennie Lee loved the Lord with all her heart and served him faithfully at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. It was here she gave her gifts and service by serving as a Sunday School teacher and a choir member. Vennie Lee also had a passion for helping others and this was expressed in working alongside her sister to prepare and serve bereavement meals at the church for those who had recently lost their loved ones. It was just one way she could show how much she cared.

Vennie Lee’s love for the Lord was the first in her life. But this simply made her an even better Mama and Mema. Her true joy was found when she was surrounded by her family. Vennie Lee and Jack built quite the life together. She treasured the moments she had to love and care for her children and found her joy continued to expand in her love for her grandchildren. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.

Vennie Lee was dedicated to her work and retired from General Electric after 42 years of service. When she wasn’t working at GE, loving on her children, or working at the church, she found fulfillment in being able to make something with her own hands. She loved to crochet and it filled her heart to know she was making blankets her family would snuggle in. Vennie Lee was truly a gift and treasure.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Vennie Lee’s Life at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary with Rev. Bill Rose and Rev. Morris Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Vennie Lee is survived by her children, Jack Forrest Moore, Jr., Sharon Lee Selby and husband, David, Karen Lee Rowe and husband, Jimmy, and Keri Elizabeth Moore-Salem and husband, Ahmed; grandchildren, Rebecca Lee Vinson (James), Summer Lee Parker and husband, Justin, Taylor Skye King, Tyler James Rowe (Briana) and Abigail Mae Rowe; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Matthew Wilson, Cassidy Blaire Wilson, Aurora Skye Smith, Kayla Raye Daveler, and Kayseleigh Ellison Rowe. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Doris Boyette, Jack and Dorothy Boyette, and Heyward and Kathy Boyette.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Community Home Care and Hospice. Love and heartfelt thanks are expressed to her special caregiver and friend with hospice, Ardeja Beale, and her granddaughter, Rebecca Lee Vinson.
