Last Thursday, the Wayne County Development Alliance (WCDA) announced that Michael Aram, Inc. received the “Industry of the Year” award during the annual Industry Appreciation Reception. The Michael Aram, Inc. Goldsboro facility serves as a distribution and warehousing center for their handcrafted elegant decor and jewelry.

“It is a great honor to have been recognized as Wayne County Industry of the Year for 2022,” said Michael
Aram. “I am overwhelmed by the support and encouragement we continue to get from Wayne County and the Wayne County Development Alliance, and I look forward to many more years of continued growth in Goldsboro. I couldn’t be happier to work in such an amazing place and feel committed and grateful to be a part of the community and local economy. “

“The Wayne County Development Alliance’s key initiative is our existing industry,” said Neal Benton, Chairman of the Wayne County Development Alliance. “Our existing Industries play a significant role in the economic growth here in Wayne County by making sizeable contributions to our local economy in both new job creation and capital investment. Our existing industries are some of our largest taxpayers in Wayne County. WCDA’s focus on retaining and expanding existing industries is a key metric for attracting and recruiting new industries. Wayne County Development Alliance President Mark Pope added, “What a unique company that brings an internationally renowned luxury design company to the State of North Carolina, specifically eastern North Carolina. In 2019, we recruited Michael Aram, Inc. to Goldsboro to purchase a site and buildings. They are currently creating 90 new jobs with capital investments of over $5.7 million. This is a huge success story for the communities in rural North Carolina to win a project and company like Michael Aram, Inc. We are very thankful for the success of Michael and what he has accomplished here in Wayne County.”

Appreciation Reception recognizes Wayne County industries for their years of service and continued efforts in economic growth in Wayne County.
