November 10, 2022, 67, Goldsboro –

Carolyn McCullen Strickland, 67, passed away Thursday at her home.  Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late T.H. “Bo” and Mildred Brogden McCullen and the wife of the late James Edward “Eddie” Strickland.  A member of Emmaus Baptist Church, she was a retired Respiratory Therapy Instructor with Pitt Community College.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Darlene Pelletier (Chris); her son, Christopher Strickland (Tiffany); grandsons, Dylan Strickland and Shane Moore; great-grandson, Keaton; step daughter, Toni Mann (Chris) and their children, Chase and Jack; brothers, Billy McCullen (Janice) and Michael Brogden (Jenny Dexter); sisters, Peggy Vanoster and Kathy Smith (Ray).

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Grayson Strickland; her brother, Farrell McCullen; her sister, Nell Comer.
