A sixteen year old female was reportedly sexually assaulted Friday at her home.

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of W. New Hope Road for a report of a sexual assault. When officers arrived, they made contact with a 16-year-old female and her mother.

According to the release, the juvenile female reported to officers that she had been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance at her residence. The juvenile’s mother was not home at the time of the incident.

The juvenile was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
