Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Berkeley

On Nov. 3, 2022, at approximately 7:05 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s C-Shift responded to the 1900 block of N. Berkeley Boulevard for a traffic crash involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was running across N. Berkeley Boulevard chasing her dog when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. The driver attempted to avoid the collision. The driver did stop to render aid at the scene.  

The victim was identified as Renate Snider Brasington, an 86-year-old female. The victim was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment. Mrs. Brasington is expected to recover from her injuries.

The investigation determined that no charges will be filed in this case. The dog involved was secured and had no injuries.
