Flora Bradley Strickland

November 1, 2022, 94, Seven Springs –

Flora Bradley Strickland, Seven Springs area resident, at the age of 94, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, November 1, 2022.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Terry Heath, and followed by visitation. At other times, the family will be at the Flora Strickland residence. A commitment and burial service will be held Friday, November 4, at 11 a.m. at the Strickland Family Cemetery for family and close friends.

Mrs. Strickland had been employed at Hamilton Beach for a time, but her main goal in life was the happiness and security of her family. An excellent homemaker and wonderful cook, she was always ready to do whatever needed to be done to assist her family.

She was a member of the Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Strickland leaves behind a daughter, Mary Ann Miller, and her life partner, Thomas Best, both of Mount Olive; three sons, Durwood Arnette and his wife, Bonnie, of Dudley, Andy Strickland and his wife, Carolyn, of Mount Olive, and Donald Strickland and his wife, Wendy, of Goldsboro. Also surviving is a grandson, Dwayne Strickland, whose wife is Shannon, of Seven Springs, who stepped up as a son after the passing of his own father. Mrs. Strickland was the matriarch of a five-generation family, leaving behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Garland Strickland; a son, Robert Earl Strickland; her parents, John Bradley and Annie Herring Bradley; a brother, Luby Bradley; and a sister, Marie B.Casteen.
