November 1, 2022, 66, Dudley –

Clarence Gerald Newkirk, age 66, of the Dudley community, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Wayne-UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.  He was born in Wayne County to the late Clarence Edward Newkirk & Helen Ford Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Clarence G. Whitfield, along with five brothers.

On Saturday, November 5, 2022, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12 Noon the family of Mr. Newkirk will greet friends and family at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home & Crematory.

He is survived by his daughter – Sharrie Artis, and Three special Grandchildren – Donuell, Jr. & Brianna Artis, Iyana Jones. Three step-children – LaShonda, Keyont’e, and Timothy Whitfield. Step-Grandchildren- Montico & Nautika Whitfield.  His Brother- Stevie Ford of Hyattsville,  MD. Sisters- Vivian Hodges (Rudolph) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Carrie Doris Boseman (Philbert), Delores Darden (David), Carolyn Kornegay, Gwendolyn Graham, Demtetrice Newkirk, Catherine Powell (Joel), all of Dudley, NC.  Stepmother – Doris Newkirk  Also three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his aunts, Gloria Ford of Brooklyn, NY, and Marie Holloman of Dudley, NC.
