Carl Dee Hodnett, 90 of Dudley passed away on Tuesday at his residence surrounded by family. Born in Dryprong, LA, he is the son of the late William Drew and Jennie Collins Hodnett and is the husband of Hilda Hodnett. Carl was a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force having served for 26 years. While in the Air Force he learned multiple trades including carpentry, air conditioning, and fabrication to name a few. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He taught his grandkids to build with the skills he learned in his time in the service. He was very detail-oriented and organized with his tools. You didn’t borrow or move something he didn’t know about. He was a family man who loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, teaching them life skills. He even taught all the grandkids and great-grandkids how to swim.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Muston and Rev. David Moehring officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.

In addition to his wife, the love of his life, and best friend, Hilda, Carl is survived by his daughter, Tammy Bova, and husband, Jeff; granddaughters, Heather McAlduff and husband, Marty, Kristen Faulk and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Greyson Allen, Jonah Bartlett, Waylon Faulk, and Harper Faulk; a special niece, Jerilynn Hodnett Jordan and husband Tim; special great-nieces, Danity and Landen Jordan; a special brother in law, William Gregory; a special friend, Virginia Holmes; other children, Deborah Callahan, Carlene Botkins, David Hodnett, and Dana Sasser; and several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Hodnett and Earl Hodnett and a sister, Marie Hodnett.
