October 23, 2022, 88, Goldsboro –

Billy Gene Hardee, age 88, passed away Sunday at his residence.  Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Wilbur Allen Hardee and the late Mae Batten Hardee. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Brown, Willie Mae Hill, and Lena Strickland. Mr. Hardee was a member of Progressive Church and a former Vice-President of Stackhouse, Inc.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Eugene Hartley officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Mr. Hardee is survived by his wife, Nancy Edwards Hardee; his brothers, W.A. Hardee, Jr. and James Edwin Hardee.
