Lemuel Oswin Sutton, 65, a native of Calypso, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

Lemuel had attended Mount Olive College, obtaining an associate degree in agriculture. He had been employed in landscaping and lawn maintenance and had operated his own business, Lem’s Maintenance Services.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served a church mission in California and in Brazil. His interests and skills were varied, as he enjoyed gardening and cooking, was hardworking, and always tried to think of ways to assist his fellow man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Bizzell “E.B.” Sutton and Julia Grantham Sutton; and a brother, Eddie Sutton, and is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Sara S. Baza and Jonathan Baza, and Sallie S. Butters and Stephen Butters; five grandchildren, Zoey, Charley, and Ivy Baza, and Jackson and Leah Butters; three sisters, Marsha S. Odom, Kathy S. Thomas and husband, Bill Thomas, and Kimberly S. Hackenholt-Wrenn; and several nieces and nephews.

Lemuel’s family will honor his life with a private gathering on Saturday, October 22.
