October 18, 2022, 85, Goldsboro –

Eunice Anderson Overton, age 85, passed Tuesday evening at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late George A. Anderson and the late Lela Jones Anderson and wife of the late Bobby E. Overton, Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son, George “Skeeter” Overton. Eunice was a member of Jones Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church and Selah Christian Church.

 A service to celebrate Eunice’s life will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Thursday evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

She is survived by her children, Jean Myers and her husband, Randy, Daryll Overton and his wife, Linda, Stanley Overton and his wife, Robin, Bobby Overton, Jr. and his wife, Angie;  three sisters, Edna Strickland, Doris Dickerson, and Inez McCrosky; ten grandchildren, Tina Kornegay, Jessica Gray, Sabrina Overton, Michelle Kornegay, John Robert Overton, Bobby Ray Overton, Roy Overton, Billy Overton, Taylor  Marriner, and Rose Chandler; along with fifteen great-grandchildren.
